Guitarist · Bassist · Vocalist · Songwriter · Producer

Kenny Lee Lewis is a veteran guitarist, bassist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer, best known as a member of the Steve Miller Band since 1982. Over more than 43 years he has contributed guitar (1982–1983, 1987–1988, 1994–2011), bass (1983–1987, 2011–present), and backing vocals while co-writing tracks on the triple-platinum album Abracadabra (including the hit “Cool Magic”). The Steve Miller Band itself has played the historic Fillmore more than 120 times and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

A Tribute to the Fillmore

Today, Kenny's primary project outside the Steve Miller Band is Kenny Lee Lewis Presents: A Tribute to the Fillmore. Born during COVID-era livestreams with his band The FrenZ, this immersive concert experience honors the legendary 1960s–1970s San Francisco rock era and visionary promoter Bill Graham. The Tribute recreates the magic of the Fillmore Auditorium, Winterland, and the Family Dog—bringing together classic songs from the venue's diverse roster, firsthand backstage stories from musicians who lived it, and (when available) vintage hand-drawn posters and psychedelic light shows.

“Come for the music, stay for the memories.”

A World-Class Ensemble

Kenny leads a core band of seasoned Central Coast and LA veterans: Lauri Reimer (vocals, percussion), Bob Santa Cruz (bass, vocals), Wyatt Lund (drums), Marty Townsend (guitar, vocals), and Cliff Brockett (keyboards, vocals). Every show features different special guests who have deep ties to the original Fillmore artists, including Bill Champlin, Carl Verheyen, Deb Ryder, Tamara Champlin, Scott Page, Jimmy Z, and many others.

Always Creating

In addition to the Tribute and ongoing Steve Miller Band tours, Kenny stays active with solo recordings (including the smooth-jazz album New Vintage), the group Barflyz (with his wife Diane Steinberg-Lewis), Hang Dynasty, TrueFire guitar lessons, film/TV composing, and his sci-fi fantasy novel Skeleton Dolls: Children of the Tower. Based in the San Luis Obispo area, he continues to celebrate live music and the enduring spirit of rock's golden age.
